Post-Earthquake freight and rate changes

Following the recent earthquakes, you will all be aware that our transport infrastructures have sustained major damage nationwide which will impact freighting movements for the foreseeable future. There will be major implications, particularly in the South Island, on both the timeliness and cost of freight deliveries.

While recovery has started, there are still major diversions in place due to the damage caused to SH1 south of Blenheim. The Lewis pass is the main detour route until SH1 is rectified. This detour unfortunately causes an unavoidable 143 additional kilometres to the run from Picton / Blenheim to Christchurch. The alternative route via Arthurs pass should the Lewis pass be closed, means an additional 294 kilometres.

With such a drastic change to our routes for destinations south of Blenheim we regret that we are unable to maintain our current timeframes and rates. We need to adjust our rates while the detours are in place to recover our additional costs. We'd also ask for your patience and understanding as we work through these trying times.

Please note that the prices at the time of booking does not include the earthquake surcharge, which will appear on your invoice.
